Pre-registration

Why should I have to fill in a pre registration form?
It is useful to obtain statistics of the vacancies we are likely to need and at the same time it helps us obtain the necessary data to improve our registration system.
When do I have to fill in the pre registration form?
It is usually carried out in June. You can fill it in on the school’s web straight away.
Is it necessary to fill in the pre registration form in order to join the school?
Only for those who intend to attend officially, otherwise you have the chance of standing for one of the vacancies offered in September. You will not need pre registration if you want to follow our Distance Learning Programme (That’s English) or if you only intend to sit for the exams of June.
Which documents should I include together with my pre registration?
You only have to fill in the required data on the school's web.
What if I do no have an Internet connexion?
The school's computer room will be available for those of you who may need it. From 9 am till 1 pm.
Can I sign a pre registration for more than one language?
Yes, you can. You can pre register for all the languages offered at the school.
Do I have to pay any taxes?
No, it is free.
Does it guarantee a post at the school?
No, it only gives you the right of obtaining one, but there is no guarantee. When you come to the school on the date assigned you will be offered the groups that are available.
Have I been accepted?
Nobody is rejected, but that does not necessarily imply that you have obtained a post.
I have already filled in my pre registration form. What do I have to do now?
You have to wait till the lists are publicised. This list often appears by the end of July and it includes the exact date a time when you have to come to the school for registration.
I forgot to fill in my pre registration form. Is it too late to join the school?
You can still get a post once the registration period is over. By the end of September you will have the chance of applying for one on the school’s web.

Registration

Which are the dates?
It depends. Students who pass in June will carry out registration in July. Students who pass in September will have to register in September. Students who repeat course will enrol in September. Students who resigned during the course will enrol in September. Students who signed in pre registration will also enrol in September. Independent students will enrol for the June exam in February.
Which is the required age?
Students wishing to enrol are required to have completed the 2nd course of ESO.
Which is the age required to enrol the Distance Learning Programme That's English??
16 years old.
Can I enrol several languages at the same time?
Yes, you can as long as you timetable does not overlap.
Are there any scholarships or grants?
Yes, the ones given by Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia. You can get them at any tobacconist's or at Ministerio´s web page.
What documents are required from foreign students?
If you want to enrol Spanish for Foreigners, you'll have to bring your certificate of studies translated to either of the official languages of our community. If you want to study any other language you must bring a certificate of studies validated or accredited in Spain.
Is there a limit in the admission of independent students?
No, there is no limit. Independent student just pay for the right to sit for an exam.
Is admission limited in the Learning Distance Program That's English?
Yes, there is a maximum rate of 50 pupils in a classroom.
Is it compulsory for That’s English pupils to buy the didactic materials?
Part of it is compulsory and it is included in the registration fees.

Placement Test

What is the use of it?
If you already have some previous knowledge of the language you intend to study, you can sit for this test in order to be placed in the most appropriate level.
When do I have to register for the placement test?
When you are filling in your pre enrolment form.
Do I have to pay taxes for the Placement Test?
Yes, the taxes previously agreed by the Government.
Who can sit for the Placement Test?
Those who are trying to enrol the school for the first time.
Is there a Placement Test for those pupils who want to enrol the Distance Learning Programme That's English?
Yes. The test is referred to as VIA.

When can I ask for a refund of the taxes I paid?
When you are not given the service you paid for.
Can I change class after the course has started?
Yes, there is a period at the beginning of October by means of the Internet but we advise you to choose your timetable carefully as it is not t always possible to change afterwards.
Can a Spanish person enrol the course Spanish for Foreigners?
No, it's impossible.
Is there a limit in the number of chances or resits?
Yes, there are four chances, two per course.
What do I have to do if I lose my student card?
You can ask for a new one in the office but you will have to pay the required taxes.

Accreditation/Recognition of other studies

I have the Mitjà Certificate by JQCV, FCE or TOEFL... Can I have access to a higher course at the school?
The School only recognises studies carried out at other Official Schools of Languages. Nevertheless, there are other Institutions that recognise our studies. For example our Ciclo Elemental in Valencian language is recognised by JQCV.
How many free choice university credits can I obtain for each course?
Two credits.

Why is it that the School's web always appears in Spanish or English and not in Valencian language?
Because the Web Page automatically detects the user’s language and offers the information in the language detected. If you want to change the language follow these instructions:
  • Mozilla Firefox: Tools/Options/Advanced, click on General, Languages.
  • Opera: Tools/Options, click on General, Language.
  • Internet Explorer: Tools/Internet Options, click on General, Language.
